A Deathly Sentence
By Michael Propopulos
Chapter 1
It was a clear sunny day in L.A., California. “Ready?”, yelled the Marine Biologist, Alex. His small nose shriveled. “Anything wrong in there?”. “Anything wrong in there?”. “Yep,” one of the crew members are knocked-out. He won’t wake up”, yelled Matt, an assistant marine biologist. “Start the engines!” Alex paged the engineer. Some of the armaments are starting to rust. Peter arising from his sofa screamed ‘Sail Already!’ As you can tell that he had no clue they were already sailing onward to the light blue ocean, the harvest moon was slowly setting the orange light left an alley way in the water. The submarine started sinking in the water. “1,029 miles away from the coral reef,” one of the crewmembers yelled. There were fish of all exotic colors. “We’re too low, we’re too low” Peter yelled. There was great commotion going on in that submarine. They disappeared from the view at the table in the headquarters. “Where are they?”. The manager admonished his companion. “Did you forget the placer?”. “Yes sir,” huffed his companion. “That can cost lives,” he fumed with anger. The room was in a deep silence. “We need to find them.” “Yes sir, I shall call the coast guards,” the companion replied. They rushed to the deck. There was a huge gush of rushing bubbles floating to the top. “There they are. Rush to the submarine,” the manager squabbled. They quickly started the engine and rushed out of the port to the rushing bubbles. Along the way they discovered an eerie light on the ocean floor. They could not control the submarine for very long. They were creeping closer to the light. A second before they disappeared, they screamed.
Was it magic? When they woke up they were on a deserted island in the pacific. They looked around for any signs of life. The manager was a son of a famous movie star. “I have never been stranded on an island before,” he mumbled. “Where are we?” the companion moaned. His arm was bleeding like crazy. “What are we going to do now with your bleeding arm - we can’t do anything.” A double engine plane was flying on the other side of the island. “I will bandage you quickly and leave, stay here and I’ll come to retrieve.” The manager walked into the forest. The airplane had landed in the sand. Awaiting their next move. He was hiding in the underbrush. Are these people traders, he thought.
Another plane landed next to the other plane. They traded the animal parts for money. Then they got back into their planes. The manager hurriedly jumped into the back of the plane. The airplane flew approximately 3 hours. They landed a platform that looked like china. He opened the back and jumped out. “Get him,” the Chinese people yelled in their language. They pulled out hand guns and started shooting. Luckily none of the bullets have hit him. He got the police after a far run into the city. The traders had been caught and found guilty. the manager and the coast guard went over to the plane and received the assistant. “I see he needs a hospital,” the coast guard exclaimed. They have never found the other marine biologist.
Chapter 2
Dear Brother,
I have just encountered another almost deathly experience. The last one was a lot easier. You know my companion Joe, right? Unfortunately he is in the hospital right now.
Sincerely,
Your Brother Nick
The next day was a sad gloomy day because of the missing family members and friends that had been on that study. The office had been a lot more quiet also. Then there was a bunch of laughing in the elevator. When Alex, Matt, and some crew members came, the day was more delightful. “You’re back, what happened?” the manager asked cheerfully. “Well, we have to say – amazing. First we found out many things. They will be on the report, and have to tell you how much fun we had joking around when we pretended to almost hit the ground. Oh, so funny, let’s do it again, he breathed and sighed. “What have you done?” You can tell how furious the manager was. “So you wanna know what we’ve been doing.” “Uh-ya.” “One, we were deserted on an island, next I was getting chased by bullets, just to find you, is that a good explanation.” “Yes.” The manager walked away in disgust. Who knows why, but there’s allegedly saying that you should never follow a fake clue. Next time use common sense.
