Teen Programming

The Kinnelon Library is proud to offer a growing number of Teen Programs for those in grades 6 to 12. From writing to video games, or Magic the Gathering to a teen book club, we are sure to have a program that appeals to you. Look out for our Teen Summer Reading program or, if you’d like to earn volunteer hours and help the library, consider joining our Teen Advisory Board.



Teens 16 and up may also register for most adult programs on our adult registration page! 

Paint-A-Sunflower-Thursday, July 5 at 6:30 pm-Paint a Sunflower with Carla Carfora. Painting is easier than you think, with a little help from Carla you will create a beautiful sunflower. Class is limited so sign up soon! $10 per person.FILLED

Flower Felting Class-Wednesday, July 11 at 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm-Ducky is back! Kerstin Katko will teach a basic wet felting project class. Using water and fluffy wool you’ll learn the basics of this creative medium. You will create a beautiful flower to pin or adorn almost anything! $5 per person. Ukulele for Teens-Tuesday, July 12, at 3;30 pm-Do you want an instrument that is fun and easy to play? Try the ukulele! Architekt Music brings their instructors to the Kinnelon Library for this free introductory class, where you’ll learn the basics of playing the ukulele. In this fun and relaxed program they will teach you the basic chords, rhythm, and strumming you’ll need, to be able to play a few songs by the end of the workshop. Ongoing Programs:

Magic: The Gathering, every Tuesday night from 7:30PM to 9:30PM in Room 4 upstairs.  We play a variety of MtG formats, including casual, archenemy, cube draft, EDH/commander, multiplayer, planechase, and two-headed giant.  Adults and teens welcome.  We also teach new players! Teen Advisory Board-TAB-Want to boss around some librarians? Join the teen advisory board. You will be able to provide input into on book, DVD, and the CD collection, help rethink the teen section, brainstorm, plan, and prepare teen programs, and more. girls whoGirls Who Code Club-Every Thursday at 2:30 pm, the Kinnelon Library is proud to announce the Girls Who Code Club. Our club is a free after school activity for high school girls.  Our goal is to help close the technology gender gap by learning in a hands on environment surrounded by your peers. To register for any Teen program (one-time or continuous), please enter your information in the fields below. Feel free to register for as many programs as you’d like. It is important to register for Programs as if there are not enough registrants, programs may need to be canceled.

Please note that some programs include a small attendance fee (to cover the cost of an instructor, for example). If there is a charge for the program, please make your payment to the Kinnelon Public Library at the Front Desk (cash or check is fine).
